Barn for horses with an “Active Stable” configuration
It is in the heart of the Jura Mountains (France) that we have build an entirely adjustable barn for horses. The owners asked us to design a barn that suite the “active stable” needs. Indeed, their horses live in total freedom between their field and their barn, those are related by a pathway covered with rubber mats.
The stable has been built with a metallic structure, a wood framework and a cladding with 42mm Douglas pine.
The barn includes :
- a big free area equipped with an hinged partition and a removable metallic pence that enable to create 2 stalls
- a feeling area equipped with a stabulation enabling them to eat their hay in a dry area
- an area to store the hay
- a canopy
- 2 exterior stall doors with gitters and Plexiglas on the upper part and Douglas pine on the bottom part
- 1 exterior stall door with one Douglas pine shunter to get access to the hay storage
Regarding the roof, it is the owner, roofer by profession, who realised it with dark insulted panels ideal for mountain régions. He also added roof windows to get some natural light into the barn.
